Our Philosophy
Here at Camp Adventure, we have a saying – learning is doing. And of course, in our community we want our young people to learn as much as they can, so they can achieve as much as they can. After all, it is today’s youngsters who will become tomorrow’s leaders, activists, inventors, and artists. It is today’s youngsters who will make tomorrow’s discoveries.
This is why, at Camp Adventure we spread the love of discovering. Of curiosity. Of trying, failing, and trying again. Here at Camp Adventure, we believe that learning is doing, and what you do, you know the best. Whether it’s math, social studies, or good citizenship, a student who discovers the lesson through action will know it forever. From this belief, we offer these programs to our schools and community groups.
Challenge Education
Our challenge education programs are experience-based activities that utilize adventure to facilitate holistic growth for both individuals and groups. Cooperative group problem solving tasks and individual challenge and decision making opportunities are fundamental elements of the program.

FAQ
What will my day at Camp Adventure be like?
Every day at Camp Adventure is different. Depending on your program, the weather, your teammates, and how you rolled out of bed that morning. Your day could develop in a number of different directions. Here’s what we can tell you for certain – you will be challenged to the extent that you decide, and pushed to the limits that you set for yourself. You will also have fun, and learn about the people you came with. Physically, emotionally, and mentally, you will strive to solve problems, accomplish tasks, and find success. At the end of the day, you will probably be tired; but it will be a good kind of tired – the kind that comes from striving to be your best self.
What is “Challenge by Choice?”
“Challenge by Choice” means that YOU decide what you want to accomplish. Success at Camp Adventure is measured by the goals that you set for yourself, and your commitment to those goals. So in essence, you choose how you want to be challenged. Camp Adventure provides the structure, but you create the definition of success.
Additionally, in every activity, you decide the method of participation that is right for you. We offer options for every age and ability level, and can modify activities to suit your needs. We encourage you to tell us what type of participation is best for you, and how we can help you be successful. Here at Camp Adventure, we value every participant’s unique abilities.

What results can we expect?
Each program is specifically designed to meet your goals. After this initial consultation, our program is customized to give you maximum results. In general, our clients tell us they have experienced the following benefits:
- Increased self-confidence and leadership skills
- A stronger connection to teammates and positive group dynamic
- Greater awareness of self and other group members
- Enhanced communication
- Increased productivity and efficiency in working relationships
What are the qualifications of your facilitators?
Our facilitators are experienced, enthusiastic, professionals, who are committed to meeting the needs of our clients. They are carefully trained to manage the safety and comfort of our participants during the Camp Adventure program, and to produce the outcomes our clients want. How can I prepare for my day?
It is best to prepare both mentally and physically for your day at Camp Adventure.
To get the most out of your experience, prepare mentally by reminding yourself of your goals. One of the best ways to do this is to talk about your expectations with your group members. By discussing your objectives at Camp Adventure before you arrive, you prepare yourself to have the best day possible.
It is also important to come prepared physically. Eat a good breakfast, and feel free to bring snacks and a water bottle (we will also provide water). Pack a lunch if you are scheduled for a full day session. Dress in comfortable cloths with layers, as the temperature can change dramatically from morning to afternoon. We also recommend comfortable, closed toed shoes. Finally, remember to bring any prescription medication you may need, such as an epi-pen or inhaler. Follow these tips and you will be well prepared for your day at Camp Adventure!

- Observe behaviors and interactions, and help with the reflection discussion at the end of the activity.
- Set an example! Participate in the activity and provide a role model for the group.

As a parent of a participant, what should I know about Camp Adventure?
First of all, you should know that safety is our highest priority at Camp Adventure. We host with thousands of children every year, and our trained facilitators work hard to ensure that every child who comes through our gate stays happy, healthy, and well.
We educate kids, and we love what we do. We expect kids to have fun at Camp Adventure while learning new things and exploring new possibilities. Children shine as they discover more about the world around them and their own abilities. One of the best things you can do for your child is to share in this discovery.
